Moody kids ministry

Moody Kids

Moody Kids Ministry offers a safe place for kids to explore the love and power of God through creative learning and play. Our background-checked, trained volunteers guide the children each week in discovering how the Bible can be used in their modern lives. In addition to learning and having fun, our kids are building relationships with our team and with one another.

We have Sunday School weekly, and click the button below to see all of the other events we have going on!

Sunday Check-In

Infants - 1st Grade

Check-in with our welcome team in the atrium (entrance closest to baseball fields). Parents, you will receive a ticket that matches the sticker your child will wear during class. Please present the sticker at pick-up. Children in this age group will be divided into age-appropriate classrooms in the Day School space. Pre-K3 – 4th grade uses a curriculum that includes activities, a lesson, a video, Scripture reading, application, reflection, and prayer time.

2nd - 4th Grade

Kids in this age range will come to Room 105 for Sunday School. When they come in, they will be greeted by their teacher and reminded to mark their name on the attendance sheet. Kids are not allowed to leave the classroom until an adult or approved older sibling has come to pick them up.

Sunday Childcare

During our 8:30 am and 11:00 am services, our nursery is open to kids from infant to Kindergarten. Our older kids are encouraged to join their families in service. There are Busy Folders at each service for our children who need help sitting still during this time.

FAQ'S

We want your church experience to be smooth and happy. If you do not see an answer to your question here, please reach out.

What curriculum do you use for Sunday School?

We use GROW Curriculum from Pre-K3 all the way through 12th grade. Each class has its own age-appropriate themes, series, and lessons. The curriculum includes activities, a lesson, a video, Scripture, application, reflection, and prayer time.

How can I become a volunteer?

We love our volunteers and can’t do ministry without them! Click here to sign up to be a volunteer. We will contact you to set up a short meeting to get to know you and find out where you would like to help out. We will do a short ministry training and Safe Sanctuary training which includes a background check. Then we will get you on our schedule. You can volunteer as little or as much as you are able.

What is available for kids during the services?

Outside the doors of each worship space, there is a box containing Kids’ Activity Folders which include coloring/activity sheets and crayons children can use during the service. Folders can be returned after the service so we can refill them for the next week. All services in the Sanctuary and the Spanish service include a short Children’s Time where kids are invited to come to the front to hear a brief, kid-friendly message. Afterward, the children return to sit with their families.

Is there anything special for parents?

We have fun opportunities specifically for parents. Kaleidoscope is our special parents’ night out which takes place once a month. Children have a safe, fun playtime at the church so parents can enjoy an evening out. You can sign up and pay at www.moody.org/register.

Are there events for kids outside of Sunday mornings?

Once a month we have a special Wednesday Night Kids Event. We do have other pop-up events that happen as well, usually on weekends or when kids are out of school. Check out our events at www.moody.org/register or email aharrell@moody.org to get signed up for our emails about special events.

What yearly events do we not want to miss?

Some of our larger events each year include our Easter morning Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School in July, Kids in the Patch and Trunk or Treat in October, and our Christmas Eve Children’s Pageant.
