Child care is a key component in the life of the church – both on Sundays and throughout the week. Parents may relax and focus on their spiritual needs, knowing that our nursery department is staffed with paid and volunteer workers who are certified in Infant/Child CPR and Rescue Breathing. Our paid employees attend a number of training events throughout the year and are supervised by experienced child care professionals. As an added comfort, parents are provided with a pager that allows nursery staff to contact them if necessary.

We are excited to announce the installation of new playground equipment on Wednesday, January 27. This playground is located on the north side of the building and is mainly used by the Toddlers and two-year-old class. The children are already having fun and enjoying this new place to play.
Funding to purchase the equipment was provided by the Moody Parents Organization (MPO) and Day school fundraisers.
Pre-K 3 through 4th grade are invited to Sunday School each week at 9:45am. Our classes currently use the Live B.I.G. curriculum from Cokesbury. Live B.I.G. helps children see, hear and live their Belief In God and learn about his BIG Love. If you wish to participate in this ministry, please contact Margarita Sims through the church office at (409)744-4526 or email her at msims@moody.org.

Service Opportunity for Children
Acolytes
What is an acolyte? The word acolyte is taken from an ancient Greek word meaning companion, attendant, or helper. Acolytes help those in the church to think about and worship God. Acolytes may serve as candlelighters who bring in the light, or crucifers who bring in the cross. When an acolyte brings the light (fire) into the Sanctuary, we are reminded that God is with us in our worship service. When the acolytes walk out of the Sanctuary with their candle wands lit, we are reminded that when we go out into the world, we bring God with us. Christ crucified goes before us in our coming and going forth, as signified by the cross. Acolytes wear special robes when they serve as a symbol of their leadership role in the worship service. We are very proud of these young people who wish to help us in our prayer and praise each Sunday.
If you are interested in being an acolyte, please contact Margarita Sims, Director of Children's Ministry at (409)744-4526.
