ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CLASSES

New Connections

Come make new friends while learning what you can expect from Moody Methodist Church and what our church expects of its members. This is a fun class that reviews the basics of our faith, the beliefs and activities of the United Methodist Church, and our membership vows. You will not be pressured into anything. You don’t have to join the church. Just come and try it out!

Sessions are scheduled throughout the year, so please call to see when the next session begins. We’ll meet in room 120 in the Main Building. There will be directions at the desk located inside our North Parking Lot entrance.

For more information, please contact David Dunaway at (409)744-4526 or ddunaway@moody.org.  We hope to see you there!

Young Adult Christian Education Classes

Moody Memorial Church believes that participating in a LIFE Group (Living In Faith Every-day) is the best way for young adults, both single and married, to learn, grow and change in their Christian discipleship.

At present, we have two LIFE Groups that are geared specifically to young adults. One is for people who have been a Christian for a while and the other is for people who consider themselves new to the faith. Of course, young adults are always welcome to participate in any of our adult programming.
If you would like to know more about how young adults learn, grow and change from within LIFE Groups, please contact David Dunaway for more information at (409)744-4526 or ddunaway@moody.org.

Other Adult Organizations

Chrysanna Circle

The Chrysanna Ladies group (circle) of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church has been together since the mid-1970’s. Formerly known as the Chrysalis Circle, the group merged with two other groups that had lost some memberships, about ten years ago.

All women of the church and their friends are welcome at any of our monthly meetings. The fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. is our regular meeting time. Meetings are held at the church, unless otherwise notified. Check out our meeting schedule for this year.

We have a variety of activities at our meetings. Ranging from book reviews, mission trip experiences shared, to just plain having fun, and fellowship. A sisterhood that is needed today among women of all ages and life experiences.

We also have several meetings that involve community service projects. Collecting school supplies for needy children of our community for one. We also pack packages for third world country personnel of the ships that come into our Port of Galveston. The Port Chaplain delivers them for us.

Another Christmas time project is when the group and their spouses go caroling at the Gulf Health Care Center at the end of the Seawall. We sing and present a candy cane to the residents there…just trying to spread a little holiday cheer for those who are alone and elderly.

Please come join us in our camaraderie. Contact Suzanne Tichelaar or Kitty Hutchinson.
